Medicare provides additional funding for patients to cover important areas of preventative and comprehensive health care. This enables your GP to look after your needs in a more coordinated way, involves our Practice Nurses in your ongoing care, and can provide some very useful funding to cover Allied Health services, such as physiotherapy, podiatry, audiology or dietetics.
A GP Health Assessment includes a comprehensive check of your medical history, medications, allergies, observations (such as blood pressure, height, weight), and a physical exam with your Doctor. We find our patients get a surprising amount of value out of a Health Assessment, as it provides for a longer period of time with the doctor and nurse, and often matters are raised which you might not have thought to mention during a routine consultation.
