Unfortunately, more and more people are suffering from anxiety, depression, low self esteem, low self confidence, gut issues, addictions, phobias and other mental health disorders. We are here to help.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reports…
46% of adult Australians suffer from a mental health disorder at some point in their adult life, with the most common being anxiety, depression and substance abuse.
There is a strong connection between our mind and our body. Our thoughts cause physical reactions to occur in our bodies and this is well demonstrated in the human stress response. The stress response involves the hypothalamus, pituitary and adrenal glands working together. A fearful or stressful thought stimulates these systems to produce hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones in turn result in the “Fight or Flight response” with a rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, a tight chest, butterflies in the stomach and tense muscles. These symptoms are common in stress and anxiety, with the body being in almost a constant state of “Fight or Flight”, such that very little additional stress is needed to cause an overflow of adrenaline and very disabling symptoms.
Developments in neuroscience show evidence that we are only consciously aware of about 5-10% of our thoughts and more than 90% of our thoughts occur at a subconscious level. Our subconscious mind stores all our experiences and beliefs from early childhood, and these beliefs inform and determine our actions and behaviours well into our adult life.
What is Hypnosis?
A state of Hypnosis is a natural state in which our minds are focussed and our peripheral awareness is shut off.
Hypnotherapy uses this state to access the thoughts and beliefs stored in our subconscious mind. It has been used for many years to treat a range of conditions, including anxiety, phobias, smoking cessation, fear of public speaking/flying and many others.
What is Transformational Hypnotherapy (THT)?
THT is a new therapeutic approach which combines the beneficial aspects of Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
Hypnotherapy is used as the vehicle to access the subconscious mind where we store our beliefs and experiences. Hypnosis is an entirely natural state where our minds become very focussed and our peripheral awareness is reduced. Everyone can relate to being in this state when they have driven a familiar route without remembering the journey, or when they have been engrossed with a movie or in a book.
This direct access to our subconscious mind during hypnosis allows us to understand what is going on within us, as opposed to endless talking & retelling your story session after session in the hope of trying to discover the underlying problem which means we can more rapidly uncover the reasons for your issue, create and reframe new beliefs so that you can begin the journey to transform your life.
What can Transformational Hypnotherapy help with?
Transformational Hypnotherapy has been found to be effective for anxiety, low self esteem, low confidence, addictions, phobias and gut disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome. This unique therapy is also useful in children suffering from nail biting, bedwetting as well as issues around bullying.
